Privacy policy
Last updated: 22 August 2026
These legal documents are published in English and Greek only. The English version prevails in case of any discrepancy.
This policy explains what happens to data when you use wayme.com. The short version: the measurements you enter never leave your device.
Who is responsible
The controller for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Greek Law 4624/2019 is:
- Controller
- Charalambos Karanikolis
- Address
- Ipeirou 3, 10433 Athens, Greece
- hello@wayme.com
Your measurements are not collected
Your height, weight, age band, sex and saved history are processed entirely inside your browser and stored in its local storage on your own device. They are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see them.
Health data is a special category of personal data under Article 9 GDPR. Because your measurements never reach us, we do not process special-category data at all. Deleting them is entirely in your hands: use “Clear all” in the history section, or clear your browser's site data.
The export function creates a file on your own device. If you then send that file somewhere, that transfer is yours, not ours.
Server logs
Like any website, ours is delivered by a hosting provider that records technical request data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, referring page, browser and operating system. These logs exist to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose faults.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functioning website. Logs are kept for a short period by the hosting provider and then deleted or anonymised.
Hosting is provided by Vercel Inc. acting as our processor under Article 28 GDPR.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use one strictly necessary cookie and, only with your consent, analytics cookies.
- NEXT_LOCALE
- Remembers the language you chose. Strictly necessary for the site to work as you selected, so no consent is required. Expires after one year.
- Analytics cookies
- Set by Google Analytics only after you accept them in the consent banner. Used to count visits and understand which pages are useful. Declined by default.
Analytics
If, and only if, you give consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) to produce aggregate statistics about how the site is used: for example, how many people visit, which languages they read and which pages they open.
Before you consent, no analytics script is loaded at all: nothing is requested from Google and no cookie is set. If you later withdraw consent, the analytics cookies already set are deleted.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, your consent, together with Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive as implemented in Greece by Law 3471/2006. You may withdraw consent at any time, with effect for the future, via “Cookie settings” in the footer.
Google may transfer data to the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of protection; standard contractual clauses apply in addition.
We also verify ownership of this site with Bing Webmaster Tools and Google Search Console. Verification adds a static tag to the page; it sets no cookies, collects nothing from you, and needs no consent.
Advertising
We do not currently display advertising. If advertising is introduced, this policy will be updated beforehand to name the providers, describe the cookies used and explain your choices, and personalised advertising will only be served in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland with consent collected through a Google-certified consent management platform.
What we never do
- We do not sell or share your personal data.
- We do not create profiles of you and we make no automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
- We do not ask you to register and we do not run user accounts.
- We do not send newsletters or marketing email.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, write to the email address above.
Note that because your measurements are held only on your device, we cannot access, retrieve or delete them for you. You control them directly in your browser.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Greece this is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, Kifissias 1-3, 11523 Athens, www.dpa.gr.
Children
This site is not directed at children. The calculator is intended for adults; results for anyone under 20 must be read against age-and-sex specific growth charts, as the site itself explains.
Changes
This policy may be updated when the site changes, for example when analytics or advertising are introduced. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
